Stella was living life outside, tied to a chain 24/7 down south with minimal food and water. Her human neighbors and her rescuer did as much as they could for her and eventually convinced her owner to surrender her. NELR is happy to help Stella to find a loving home full of good food, pampering, toys, and love up here in New England. She’s a happy, young girl that’s done great with potty and crate training and adjusting to home living! She hasn’t had any accidents in the house and is loving all the wonderful amenities a home can offer. Stella is a playful puppy, but also happy to mellow out and relax in all the positivity and safety. She’s doing pretty well with leash walking, considering it's so new to her, and she prefers to be fed separately from other critters to feel safe (very common and understandable for dogs that were previously food-insecure), but that’s easy enough! She's good with kids, and gets along and plays with other dogs, though she may just enjoy being an only-dog and receiving all the pampering as a bonus in this new life of hers. She's athletic and loves to "climb" so she might be a fun buddy to try some agility-type classes with. Stella also loooooves physical attention; being patted, dried off, brushed, belly-rubbed, and getting doggy massages, she will have you laughing at her big, appreciative stretches! She can’t wait to be part of a family; learning, loving, and going on memory-making adventures.

We are a nonprofit organization - all adoption fees go towards the rescue, veterinary care, and transportation of these dogs in order to get them ready for their forever homes.

We are a shelterless rescue. All of our dogs are housed in foster homes to help them de-stress and get used to a home environment while they await adoption, giving us the opportunity to understand their personalities and needs.
