Kojack (AKA Jack) was hit by a car which resulted in an injury to his back leg, and – for some reason – instead of bringing him to the vet, his owner put him in the trunk of his car (down south, in the heat). Thankfully word spread and our amazing rescue network friends were able to work their magic and get Jack surrendered and into NELR care. He is so sweet, and we are grateful to everyone involved that he’s able to get a second chance at a good life! He’s healing up and loves to go for leisurely walks and get some sniffs in (he’s very good on- and off- leash), however being a jogging or hiking buddy would be too much for him. His vet has given direction for rebuilding strength (slow and steady), and he could potentially benefit from a brace in the future, but they believe he’s all set as far as extra medical care. His fosters say he is the sweetest, most loving boy and will make your heart melt! He’s good and playful with other dogs as long as they don’t rough-house too much. He gets along with cats and gives them kisses, but occasionally likes to play-chase them. Unsurprisingly, he hasn’t had much direction as far as basic cues, but teaching those things are a great way to develop communication and a bond with your new family member. He enjoys toys and would love to learn about all the fun options out there! He’s an easy-going boy and would be delighted with any and all pampering you’d like to give ❤️

All of our available adoptable dogs are on Facebook, Petfinder, and our website. If a dog is no longer listed it means they have an adoption pending.

We are a nonprofit organization - all adoption fees go towards the rescue, veterinary care, and transportation of these dogs in order to get them ready for their forever homes.

We are a shelterless rescue. All of our dogs are housed in foster homes to help them de-stress and get used to a home environment while they await adoption, giving us the opportunity to understand their personalities and needs.
