Chino allllmost found his forever home but would really love to be in a home with another dog. He also loves playtime with kiddos (and doesn’t mind cats!) and would fit in great with a bigger family.

Chino is from a litter of twelve puppies – WOW! Six males, six females. All are happy, loving pups that can’t wait to start their lives as a part of your family! This litter’s story starts with their pregnant, stray mom being found by a kind man and taken in so she could have her babies in safety. The man invited mom to stay and live a happy, loved life in the safety of his home, but sought out help for the huge litter of adorable pups that now needed to find theirs. Due to a stretch of years without much spaying/neutering, Puerto Rico has had a huge stray dog overpopulation they’ve been working towards vetting and homing, and many rescues in the states have offered to help when possible. NELR is happy to help lend a hand, and we have a feeling these little ones will love their new lives in New England! Chino is a playful, curious, snuggly pup that can’t wait to bring joy to your day! He’s settling in well, having a great time playing with his puppy sibling and learning about foster home life. He is young and will need to be neutered when age appropriate. Our fosters do a wonderful job of introducing our puppies to crates and potty training, but continued bonding over training skills with their forever family is a great way to show your little pupper what life in your house is all about, as well as open good communication with your new family member ❤️

ATTENTION PUPPY ADOPTERS: We strongly advise positive reinforcement training/behavior classes with your new pup. Training is for the benefit of you and your puppy and will help you build a stronger relationship. Puppies do not know what they haven’t been taught and some “puppy proofing” may need to be done in your home. Please remember that little puppies come in little bodies that need potty breaks every few hours.

All of our available adoptable dogs are on Facebook, Petfinder, and our website. If a dog is no longer listed it means they have an adoption pending.

We are a nonprofit organization - all adoption fees go towards the rescue, veterinary care, and transportation of these dogs in order to get them ready for their forever homes.

We are a shelterless rescue. All of our dogs are housed in foster homes to help them de-stress and get used to a home environment while they await adoption, giving us the opportunity to understand their personalities and needs.
