Athena and her littermates came all the way from Puerto Rico to find loving forever homes, and we are so excited to show them all New England has to offer! Due to a stretch of years without much spaying/neutering, Puerto Rico has had a huge stray dog overpopulation they’ve been working towards vetting and homing, and many rescues in the states have offered to help when possible. NELR is happy to join the cause, and we have a feeling these little ones will love their new, pampered lives here in New England! Athena is a playful, friendly, snuggly pup that can’t wait to bring joy to your day. She gets along well with other dogs and loves hanging out with her human friends. She is young and will need to be spayed when age appropriate. Our fosters do a wonderful job of introducing our puppies to crates and potty training, but continued bonding over training skills with their forever family is a great way to show your little pupper what life in your house is all about, as well as open good communication with your new family member ❤️

ATTENTION PUPPY ADOPTERS: We strongly advise positive reinforcement training/behavior classes with your new pup. Training is for the benefit of you and your puppy and will help you build a stronger relationship. Puppies do not know what they haven’t been taught and some “puppy proofing” may need to be done in your home. Please remember that little puppies come in little bodies that need potty breaks every few hours.

We are a nonprofit organization - all adoption fees go towards the rescue, veterinary care, and transportation of these dogs in order to get them ready for their forever homes.

We are a shelterless rescue. All of our dogs are housed in foster homes to help them de-stress and get used to a home environment while they await adoption, giving us the opportunity to understand their personalities and needs.
